Yearly Maintenance
We recommend having your jewelry professionally cleaned and inspected once every six months to a year to keep them looking their best and ensuring the workmanship hasn't been compromised by some form of trauma, such as being dropped or hit against a hard surface. These inspections help prevent the loss of your diamond(s) in the event your ring has been inadvertently damaged. Please contact us at service@quorri.com to learn more.
Sometimes, small problems, like loose stones, worn or damaged prongs can be detected and repaired before they turn into bigger problems. Most gemstones are lost weeks and months after the damage could have been noticed if someone had just taken a few minutes to examine the jewelry item closely. If you notice that the stone has become loose or any other damage to the setting, do not wear your jewelry and contact us at immediately.
Treating your Jewelry with care ensures that you will enjoy its Beauty for many years
Don’t use harmful solutions
Your jewelry should be treated with care to avoid damaging its beautiful appearance. Exposure to Chlorine (as in household bleach) or abrasives (such as household cleansers or toothpaste) should never be used when cleaning diamonds, especially those set in jewelry. These household/harsh chemicals can cause damage to the gold and even possibly discolor your gemstone. Gold prongs can also get pitted and actually dissolve to the point they can no longer hold the gemstone. Prolonged exposure to chlorine in hot tubs or swimming pools can have the same effect. Remove your rings or wear gloves to protect them when cleaning.
Diamonds and Gemstones are NOT indestructible
Although Diamanti stones are very durable and resistant to everyday wear you can still easily scuff, fracture or even chip your stone if mishandled. Yes, even a Diamond being the hardest mineral substance known to man can fracture, chip or even break.

Don't wear your beautiful jewelry when you are doing rough work as a hard blow or scrape can damage your stone. Grocery cart handles are notorious for being hard on rings. Hitting a gemstone with a handle on the grocery cart or a car door has much the same impact as hitting the gemstone with a steel hammer. Remove your jewelry and place it in a safe location before gardening, playing sports, swimming, or performing difficult chores around your home is recommended.
Extra care should be taken for eternity rings. Their look is beautiful but an eternity ring (even if it were a diamond one) is one of the most maintenance intensive rings and at high risk for damage. This is because there are always stones at the bottom of the ring that are the initial contact to every object you touch and grab onto. This pressure can eventually cause the stones to give way or get damaged. Here is a great link to give you an insight on eternity rings: What you should know about Eternity Bands
Storage
Even the hardest gemstones can be vulnerable to breakage. That’s why carefully storing your jewelry is so important. Jewelry boxes can be a bad idea if all of your pieces are piled on top of each other. Remember diamonds, rubies, and sapphires can easily scratch other gems, metals and each other. The best idea is to wrap pieces individually to keep them pristine. To minimize scratches and other damage, store your jewelry either in a cloth pouch or in a separate compartment in your jewelry box.
